Bedrock’s Michael Hartley Appointed to the Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, and Geologists (BPELSG)
Bedrock Engineering is a state-certified small business, owned and operated by its founders. Our team holds well over 100 years of combined, local experience, and we believe in delivering a quality service and a quality product to you, our community. Community is at the core of everything we do, and we measure our success by evaluating how well we are serving you. One way we demonstrate our commitment to our values, our industry, and our community is through our affiliations and participation in relevant associations. This month, we are excited to announce that our president, Michael Hartley, was recently appointed to the Department of Consumer Affairs Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, and Geologists (BPELSG) by Governor Gavin Newsom.
This announcement was made public by a September 30, 2020 press release from the Office of California Governor Gavin Newsom announcing the Governor’s most recent appointments. The Fall 2020 BPELSG newsletter, the Bulletin, also made the announcement. The newsletter announces three new members to the 15-member board, one of which is Bedrock’s own Michael Hartley. Page 2 of the newsletter reads,
Michael S. Hartley, PLS, of Madera has been appointed to the Board. Hartley has been president of Bedrock Engineering Inc. since 2008. He was survey manager at Michael Sutherland and Associates from 1991 to 2008. Hartley is a board member of the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) and a corporate member of the California Land Surveyors Association (CLSA). He is a member of the California State University, Fresno, GME Advisory Council and the Geomatics Engineering Foundation.
Since its founding, the Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, and Geologists (BPELSG) has held the mission of protecting the public’s safety and property by promoting standards for competence and integrity through the licensing and regulating of these professions. The goal of the BPELSG is to make California a leader in protecting the public and the environment with competent and ethical professional services in these fields. Mr. Hartley has long been active in industry organizations and associations with similar goals, and is excited to now be able to continue doing so from the platform of the BPELSG.
At Bedrock, we pride ourselves on professionalism and integrity, and our participation in relevant industry associations demonstrates our commitment to these values. Bedrock Engineering is an active member of the San Joaquin Valley Chapter of ACEC, the American Council of Engineering Companies, and President Michael Hartley also serves as a member of the state Board of Directors, Professional Surveyors Committee, and Qualifications Based Selection (QBS) Committee. Michael is also a member of the California Land Surveyors Association as well as the Fresno State GME Advisory Council.
