Mike Hartley, President, PLS
Mike is a Professional Land Surveyor and is President of Bedrock Engineering, Inc. His twenty-seven years of land surveying experience includes project management of construction staking, topographic and boundary surveys, ALTA surveys, aerial photocontrol surveys, and right-of-way engineering projects. He has extensive experience in managing the surveying components of complex construction projects.
Mike has spent his entire career working in California’s Central Valley – mostly in Madera, Fresno and Merced Counties. He is especially familiar with the survey records of these counties, both public and private, and his expertise in records research will help ensure thorough results.
Dave Hartley, CFO, RCE
Dave is a Registered Civil Engineer in the State of California and is Secretary and Chief Financial Officer of Bedrock Engineering, Inc. His eighteen years of post-graduation engineering experience includes design of grading, street, sanitary sewer, water, and storm drain improvements for municipal, industrial, residential, and commercial developments. Dave also has extensive experience in processing plans through numerous government agencies, in managing topographic survey and construction staking projects, and in preparing stormwater pollution prevention plans.
Peter Mayne, Vice President, PLS
Pete is a Professional Land Surveyor and is Vice President of Bedrock Engineering, Inc. His twenty-five years of land surveying experience includes establishing horizontal and vertical control networks and performing boundary surveys, topographic surveys and construction staking.
Kenneth “Mick” Padgett, PLS
Mick is a Professional Land Surveyor in the State of California. His thirteen years of land surveying experience includes establishing horizontal and vertical control networks and performing boundary surveys, topographic surveys, ALTA surveys, and project management. Mick has extensive knowledge and experience in construction staking.
Richard C. Shepard, PLS
Richard is a Professional Land Surveyor. His thirty years of land surveying experience includes project management of construction staking, topographic and boundary surveys, ALTA surveys, aerial photocontrol surveys, and right-of-way engineering projects. Richard has extensive experience in managing the surveying components of boundary, right-of-way, and construction projects. He has over twenty-five years experience using AutoCAD for survey mapping and plan production.
Before joining Bedrock Engineering, Richard was Head of the Survey Department for Giersch and Associates, Inc. in Madera, CA. He was responsible for all aspects of the department, including research, cost estimates, fieldwork, parcel maps, ALTA survey maps, and legal descriptions. In addition, he was responsible for preliminary drafting and quality control of civil engineering improvement plans prepared by Giersch and Associates and for review of outside record maps and improvement plans as the agent of the City Engineer for various client-cities, including Chowchilla, Fowler, Parlier, and Mendota.
Charles “Chase” Miller, PLS
Chase is a Professional Land Surveyor, project manager and a party chief at Bedrock Engineering, Inc. His eight years of land surveying experience includes establishing horizontal and vertical control networks and performing boundary surveys, topographic surveys, ALTA surveys, terrestrial laser scanning, construction staking, and underground utility locating/mapping. In 2010, Chase graduated from the University of Calgary with a Master of Science in Geomatics Engineering, which involved completing a thesis on the accuracy of GPS surveying.
Chase is fluent in both the English and Spanish languages and has an uncanny ability of diffusing difficult situations. A very capable surveyor, Chase also has great interpersonal skills and is a tremendous asset dealing with people. He often takes a survey project from start to finish being personally involved with clients and doing the research, project planning, field work, mapping and document preparation for projects.
Matt graduated from California State University, Fresno with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology in 2015. Matt is a Subsurface Utility Engineer, Survey Technician, Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) specialist, and Bedrocks Safety Officer.
Chris is a Subsurface Utility Engineer and Survey Technician, who has over 1,000 successful subsurface utility investigations spanning his career. Chris received an honorable discharge from the Army, and is our Bilingual speaker (Spanish).
